Tom Cruise Vs. the Martians

Ok Ok, Red Beard, i know i stole the title of this entry from you. I just got back from the movie and it was really fun to watch. It was non-stop action, suspensful, it had great special effects and everything looked so cooooool. I really let myself get into the movie and I flipped out on some of the scary scenes.

But I must say that aliens in movies are stupid. They just don't seem to do their research. In Signs, water was like acid to the aliens. The earth is three fourths water, and they forgot their rain-coats! In this movie the narrator tells us that they have been watching us for thousands of years but i guess they didn't know what a microscope is?

When/if aliens come to the earth they will do it right. None of this rounding people up one by one the long way. If they can master interstellar travel, I am pretty sure they can totally kick our puny human asses without putting that much effort into it.
