in ohio but not for long!
I got back from my house hunting trip a couple days ago. I guess in California they don't care if you get to see the place where you'll be living before you commit to it. Most of the places I visited had models but nobody would let me see the rooms that are available. When I apartment hunted on campus they would set an appointment for the next day and notify the resident. As long as they notified 24 hrs in advance it was okay. Hell people were in my apartment all the time.
The place I picked out is a one bedroom. It's Park West Village in Lancaster, CA. You can actually see the grounds and a virtual tour at forrent.com but you have to kinda piece it together because most of the rooms they show in the virtual tour are from a different layout from the one I'll be in. I think if you look at the kitchen and model you get a better idea of how it'll be. There will be a large walk in closet but a little kitchen.
I am getting more and more excited about my job. They have my first six months planned out and over booked. It looks like I'll be traveling a lot for the first couple of months. In June the project that I will be working on the closest will start. My boss joked "yeah, you will have too much to do and over worked then your real job starts." They gave me all kinds of reading to do to catch up on the current project and to refresh what I learned in school plus a text book on measurement uncertainty methods and applications.
I have a moving company coming out to take most of my junk to Cali. After Christmas my family is going to Iowa to see my grandparents and from there Justin and I will drive to CA. He's going to fly home when we get there. I still haven't laid out the trip but that will come in good time ... dang it'll have to ... I am running out of time! I have to pack, get Christmas gifts and do my homework. With that I am signing off I am too busy to piddle around online!
