The drive up and back was really something. All of the mountains, trees and rocks. Pictures don't do it justice. It's different to be there and see everything. I took some pictures and they don't do it justice either. Everything is more colorful in person and it's all much bigger. One of the guys who came with us has been off roading in a lot of the mountains around the area we were driving through so he was able to tell me stuff about them. On the way back he showed me where they filmed bud's trailer in kill bill II. I want to go back there in the light. In the movie it looked really cool with all kinds of different colored mountains. Dave said that he saw the trailor in the park and didn't know that they were filming until he saw the movie and recognized everything. Another pit stop on the drive home is pictured below.

There have been fires in my part of the country since labor day and the smoke has filled the sky. It is spooky. It rolls over the hills to the west and blows through the valley. It looks like brown red dark clouds. I guess when the fires are closer and more intense it rains ash, but it hasn't gotten to that in this area. I uploaded some pictures but it stopped working so the smoke pictures may have to wait.

I need to go out west sometime because those mountains look really cool. The farthest I've been is Phoenix (well, not counting Hawaii).
