More on my apartment

Now that i am a little more settled in, I'll tell you all a little more about my apartment. The kitchen is really pretty nice. The counters and sink aren't scratched up and the dishwasher and stove/oven are big and all of the appliances are clean. The only problem is the ant infestation. I used some raid yesterday and the day before. I haven't seen any in the kitchen today but i saw a few in the living room. It creeps me out to use raid near where i'll be preparing food. I'll have to scrub up before I make anything. Someone sprays outside the apartment every couple of days and he'll spray inside next tuesday if I ask. My dining room is completely empty because i don't have any furniture yet.

The carpets througout are new. I already tracked in some plant crap by the front door. I have a coat closet but it's across the room from the door. The gas fireplace is cute. I haven't seen it on and I may not light it because I don't want to mess with the gas. There's a mantle and mirror. I already put a bunch of prints and paintings justin made and framed for me on the mantle. There's a sliding glass door to the patio. I could probably fit a couple chairs out there. Like I said before I have my computer on the floor because I don't have my desk yet and I am sitting on a pillow sham so I don't get rug burn.

I am sleeping on an inflatable bed and will be for a while after I get the queen from the movers because I don't have any queen size bedding! Unless I get sick of the inflatable and use the sleeping bag. The bedroom is a nice size and I am thinking of using two of the wooden boxes dad built as nightstands. The closet is a huge walk in with sturdy poles and shelves.

The bathroom is fine. The tub has doors and you can see yourself taking a shower in the medicine cabinet ... weird. I keep forgetting to open the medicine cabinet door so that doesn't happen. The fixtures are new and the counter has enough room for me. The shower head is above my head (yay) and it has a couple of settings including some that pulse. I think i am going to stick something on the shower doors to add color. I don't like that the fan turns on when the light is on because it's pretty loud. The thermostat, in the main room, hums too.

There are night security people in the complex and the whole thing is gated. I have a garage door opener that opens the main gate. My apartment has a security system that is wired to the door and windows. The mail box is in front of the tennis court that is in front of the pool in front of the office. The office has laundry machines that you can use a money card with and they have a collection of dvd's and vhs that you can borrow for a night.

Well that was long ... later!

I was out crusing the blogs and came across yours. Ants are the bane of my existence. Here is my trick. Buy some plegde with orange oil and spray away. I battled ants every spring and summer. I started using this and it has practically stopped them. Something with the orange oil. Strange but it works.

    Nice Apartment!

So the ants are pretty bad, huh? Do they threaten to "Cut You so bad you wish you hadn't been cut so bad"? Those're some bad ants. I blame the schools. (Family Guy)

So you haven't gotten your stuff from the movers yet? I need to see your Blue Chicago paintings when you hang them! Your apartment looks cute and bigger than mine. If you ever need someone to go furniture shopping with you, fly me out.

Love the apartment. I really like what you've done to the place! Some apartments get so cluttered, but you've managed to keep yours so Feng Shui. Did you have someone come in?

Really, I know the thought and effort you put into finding your ideal space. I'm happy to see that it all worked out so well. I think the fireplace is a nice touch. I'd forgotten about that. The closet . . . what can I say. . . if all folks in California had a closet like that, many would still be in it. Be careful not to overload the dining room with computer stuff - with that kitchen, you may be enticed to give up on fast foods. You'll be forced to buy a table and chairs to sit and savor all your culinary delights - instead of crashing the boards with a bag of chips and soda to keep the munchies away.

    Good luck on Monday!

    Later.
