My life is so strange right now. I got unofficial offers from AFRL and am waiting for a formal one. Maybe it's was a little too presumptuous to but I already quit my job and started researching moving companies. I had someone come out Monday and have others coming out today and tomorrow. I have been thinking about a lot of options. What I think would be really cool is to have everything shipped, even my car. That way I wouldn't have to drive all the way out there. I think that will be too expensive. Anyway I am nervous sitting around unsure about the month ahead, waiting on official offers and plans when I have already told everyone that I have the job! Then I think they won't back out now because it wouldn't be smart on their side so I really do have the job. But nothing is really set yet. ARG. I just don't want them to back out and have to say hey ... maybe i can keep working my part time job ... take me back? Well that's what's going on with me.

This is the view from the hotel in Palmdale. I have a bunch more pictures but they were all taken from the car and are pretty boring. Flying in was misserable and the rental car was a crappy neon but Palmdale/Lancaster was nice. My interview went really well. I got some positive feedback on the presentation and the site tour was really cool because I got to go walk around on some of the huge test stands that they have built off the side of a cliff over looking the base. It's all on a flat plane except for the hill with the labs on it so you could see a far away. It was fun to learn what everyone was working on there.

I had another interview yesterday and I think that went okay. It was with Orbitec. I am not quite as excited about that oportunity but it might be kinda cool. They are doing a lot of small business innovative research in space propulsion. They are located in Madison Wisconsin.

All I really want to do is play video games ... so that's what I am going to do. If you want to know more about my adventures in Cali, you'll have to call!

on my way ...

It's really early ... I couldn't sleep. I set my alarms for 5:30 but I can't sleep that long! I have to leave for the airport at 6:15. I still don't know what I am going to do when I am in California. I think the first thing I need to do is get a map and then just wander around ... after I check into the hotel. Maybe the rental car people will have maps. I have a day and a half to see the area and then Monday is my all day interview/presentation. There are still things I have to fix about what I say during my presentation. Everybody at work wished me luck but at the same time they don't want me to get a new job. Mom belongs to an audible book club on the internet I'm not sure exactly how it works but she downloads audible books. I put one on my ipod to listen to on the plane. Man this post is all over the place ... stream of tired consciousness.
