in ohio but not for long!

I got back from my house hunting trip a couple days ago. I guess in California they don't care if you get to see the place where you'll be living before you commit to it. Most of the places I visited had models but nobody would let me see the rooms that are available. When I apartment hunted on campus they would set an appointment for the next day and notify the resident. As long as they notified 24 hrs in advance it was okay. Hell people were in my apartment all the time.

The place I picked out is a one bedroom. It's Park West Village in Lancaster, CA. You can actually see the grounds and a virtual tour at forrent.com but you have to kinda piece it together because most of the rooms they show in the virtual tour are from a different layout from the one I'll be in. I think if you look at the kitchen and model you get a better idea of how it'll be. There will be a large walk in closet but a little kitchen.

I am getting more and more excited about my job. They have my first six months planned out and over booked. It looks like I'll be traveling a lot for the first couple of months. In June the project that I will be working on the closest will start. My boss joked "yeah, you will have too much to do and over worked then your real job starts." They gave me all kinds of reading to do to catch up on the current project and to refresh what I learned in school plus a text book on measurement uncertainty methods and applications.

I have a moving company coming out to take most of my junk to Cali. After Christmas my family is going to Iowa to see my grandparents and from there Justin and I will drive to CA. He's going to fly home when we get there. I still haven't laid out the trip but that will come in good time ... dang it'll have to ... I am running out of time! I have to pack, get Christmas gifts and do my homework. With that I am signing off I am too busy to piddle around online!

I think I am kinda sick. My stomach has hurt for a couple days and today I threw up. But I haven't been feeling really terrible, just kinda. Tonight is video game night. Five of us from our guild get together and do dungeon runs most Mondays but today we are going to do Warsong Gulch. Yesterday, Justin, Evan, Sarver and I practiced in WSG and I did pretty well. I got credit for a lot of kills because I'm a warlock and can spread out my wrath!

Today I got my official offer letter so I have to read through that and fax it back quick. So far everything is looking good. I have a trip planned from 10th-14th to find an apartment. It's 46 degrees today in the part of California where I will be living. I have started trying to get all of the state quarters again. Maybe when I move it will be easier to find "D" ones.

My last day at work was Saturday. Everyone wished me luck and some people pitched in to get pizza. It was kinda fun. Normally at work I try to be a good example but sat., I walked around and talked to everyone, sat around on the counters, and refused to do stuff that I didn't feel like doing. I still had to post signs in the store which is a big job but it was the last time I'll have to do it!!

Nikki asked for my Christmas list. I really don't have anything specific in mind. I don't have anything to wear to my new job so something like that would be nice.
