The Run Around
This was another busy weekend. Party Friday, party Saturday, bought plane tickets, laundry, take home exam, balancing quicken. I hate my bank. When I started they automatically enrolled me in a stupid program that made penny transfers from checking to savings, then the bank would match the total of those transactions over the year. It only made me like 70 cents and is making the accounts in quicken all messed up. I tried to cancel the "benefit" on the web and there weren't any options for it, so I called the customer service line and there weren't any options on there to cancel it either and there weren't any options to talk to a real live person. I wound up going to a website that tells you how to cheat the customer service lines and get a real human. It was tricky but I finally got in line to talk to a rep. It took 15 minutes on hold. When I finally talked to someone he said that I didn't have a savings account. He said that they closed it because of inactivity. Can they do that? They are still paying me interest, transfering money through the stupid program, sending me statements and I can check the balance online. It even downloaded the transaction information when I set it up in quicken. He told me I should walk into a bank and make sure that they hadn't closed the account or if they have, to reactivate it, because if I don't they will turn it over to the state. He's got to be mistaken. Anyway he canceled me out of the stupid program so I solved one problem and found out about another. Add it to the list. Well, I should probably get back to the take home exam.
